From there, continue to the laid-back village of Taghazout, known for its relaxed atmosphere and surf culture, for a seaside lunch and a chance to watch local surfers ride the Atlantic waves.

Itinerary ≈ 12h round trip

1. 7:00Depart from Marrakech 3h drive — Pickup at your accommodation, then drive southwest toward the Atlantic coast.
2. 10:00Arrival in Agadir 2h15 free time — Free time to relax on Agadir's long sandy beach.
3. 12:15Kasbah Agadir Oufella 30 min — Visit the hilltop kasbah ruins overlooking the city and the bay, with panoramic views over the Atlantic.
4. 12:45Souk El Had 45 min — Explore one of Morocco's largest traditional markets, with stalls selling local produce, spices, crafts and souvenirs.
5. 13:30Drive to Taghazout 30 min drive — Continue north along the coast to this laid-back fishing-village-turned-surf-town.
6. 14:00Lunch by the ocean (optional) 1h — Free time to choose a restaurant overlooking the water, at your own pace and budget.
7. 15:00Taghazout village & surf watching 1h — Stroll through the village and watch local surfers riding the Atlantic waves.
8. 16:00Drive back to Marrakech 3h drive — Drive back to your accommodation.
9. ≈19:00Arrival in Marrakech — Back at your accommodation, end of the excursion.

Best Time to Visit

Agadir and Taghazout enjoy a mild, sunny climate for most of the year, making this a pleasant excursion in almost any season. Spring and autumn offer the most comfortable temperatures for the beach and for walking around the kasbah and souk. Summer is lively but busier, with warm water and consistent surf. Winter stays mild by Moroccan standards, which is part of why Agadir is a popular winter-sun destination, and the surf season along this stretch of coast runs practically year-round.
