How do I book an activity?
You can book directly through our website, via WhatsApp at +212 6 53 50 04 20, or by email at contact@yallakechmarrakech.com. We will confirm availability, timing, meeting point, and pricing before your activity.
How far in advance should I book?
We recommend booking at least 24 to 48 hours in advance. That said, please feel free to reach out even at the last minute — we will do our best to accommodate you.
Can I book at the last minute?
Depending on availability, yes — contact us directly via WhatsApp to check same-day availability.
Can I combine multiple activities in one day?
Yes, we're happy to arrange combined itineraries based on your schedule. Contact us for a tailor-made program.
Is there a minimum or maximum number of participants?
We welcome groups of any size — just let us know, and we'll work it out together.
Payments
How do I pay for my activity?
Payment is made on-site, on the day of your activity, in cash only — we accept both Moroccan dirhams and euros. No online payment is required to confirm your booking.
Do I need to pay a deposit?
Generally not for our activities. During high season or for larger groups, a deposit may occasionally be requested to secure your spot — we'll always let you know clearly before confirming.
Can I pay in another currency (not dirhams or euros)?
We accept Moroccan dirhams and euros in cash. For any other currency, please check with us directly when booking your activity.
Cancellation & Modification
Can I cancel or modify my booking?
Yes. We simply ask that you let us know at least 24 to 48 hours in advance via WhatsApp or email, out of respect for our guides and local partners who reserve your spot for you.
What if my plans change and I can't make it?
We understand things happen — just let us know as soon as possible so we can free up your spot for other guests and, where possible, help you find another date that works.
Activities
Do I need a licence to drive a quad or buggy?
No driving licence is required, but you must be at least 16 years old to drive. A safety briefing is mandatory before departure, and our guides' instructions must be followed at all times.
What should I wear for desert activities (quad, buggy, camel or horse riding)?
Closed-toe shoes are required for quad and buggy rides, and strongly recommended for camel and horse riding. We also suggest bringing a cap or hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen — especially for afternoon activities, as there is little shade in the desert, particularly in Agafay.
Are these activities suitable for children and beginners?
Most of our activities are beginner-friendly. Some have a minimum age or require an accompanying adult (quad, buggy, horse riding) — just let us know your children's ages and we'll confirm what works best.
Is transportation from my hotel or riad included?
Transport availability and pricing vary by activity — please refer to the specific activity page to check whether transfer is included in the price.
What type of transport do you provide?
Depending on the option chosen, we offer either a private door-to-door transfer or a minibus pickup, directly from your accommodation to the activity location and back.
What if my hotel or riad is located outside Marrakech?
If your accommodation is outside Marrakech, an additional transport fee may apply on top of the base price shown on the activity page.
What happens if the weather is bad?
If conditions affect safety, we'll happily reschedule your activity to another date at no extra cost.
Practical Informations
What currency should I use in Marrakech?
The Moroccan dirham (MAD). It's a closed currency, so you can't buy it before arriving — you'll need to exchange money once you land.
Where can I exchange money?
At banks and licensed exchange offices, widely available in the city centre and tourist areas, or at ATMs which accept international Visa and Mastercard cards. Keep your exchange receipt, as it may be requested when leaving the country.Insider tip: in the Medina, we recommend Change La Place – Exchange, right next to Café Argana on Jemaa el-Fna square. In Gueliz, Exchange NB Prestige on Boulevard Mohamed V often offers better rates.
Are credit cards accepted?
Yes, in most hotels, restaurants and tourist shops — but keep some cash for the souks, local taxis and tips.
How can I get internet access during my stay?
Local operators (Maroc Telecom, Orange Maroc, inwi) offer prepaid tourist SIM cards at the airport or in shops, with affordable data plans. An international eSIM (Airalo, Holafly...) is also a convenient option if your phone supports it.Insider tip: Maroc Telecom SIM cards and top-ups can be bought at almost any tobacco shop (bureau de tabac) around the city — quick and easy.
Is Wi-Fi widely available?
Most riads and hotels offer free Wi-Fi, but a local SIM card is useful for activities outside the city, such as the desert or mountains.
When is the best time to visit Marrakech?
Spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) offer the most pleasant temperatures. Summers can exceed 40°C, while winter days stay mild but evenings can be cool.
Is tap water safe to drink?
We recommend drinking bottled water, which is widely available everywhere.
Is bargaining common?
Yes, especially in the souks — it's part of the local culture and usually done in good spirits.
Is tipping expected?
Yes, tipping is customary in Morocco for guides, drivers and restaurant staff — a few dirhams is generally enough but always appreciated. But it's not obligatory — even if someone tells you otherwise.
What type of power socket is used?
Morocco uses type C and E sockets (same as France), at 220V. An adapter may be needed depending on your country.
Is English widely spoken?
French is very widely spoken in Marrakech, especially in tourism. English is also understood in most activities and accommodations.
